How to come out of the closet

How I did it: I concluded I was indeed gay. I came out to myself - it sounds corny, but part of it was being comfortable in myself. Once I was happy with that, I chose the friends I wanted to tell first. It was incredibly difficult - I thought I'd lose everyone, in fact I'd just built this into a huge thing in my head, my friends weren't bothered. I worked through about 25 people, individual people - all hard but ultimately wonderful.
Lessons & tips: There's no easy way to bring this up, just tell your chosen friend and take it from there.
Resources: Have good friends, they're very "there" for this kind of stuff.
