What a Good Idea!

Life is too short to be spent feeling fugly in one’s own clothes~
:-)
How I did it: I GOT RID of things I really wasn't crazy about. I bought a few pairs of shoes to complement some articles that weren't getting much use. I altered the the things that didn't fit or weren't quite right. I ruined a few pieces, but hey, I didn't like them much to begin with or I wouldn't have taken the scissors to them in the first place, eh?
Lessons & tips: Don't be timid; ditch the things you really just don't like. Even if it was a gift. Even if you never wore it. You won't miss them.
Learn to sew, or at least do simple alterations. Like a shirt but hate its sleeves? Cut them off. Like a pair of pants but they are too short? Now they're capris. Don't like the color of something? If it's a natural fiber, dye it! If there's something redeemable about it just repurpose it, and if there's nothing positive about the article DITCH IT and ditch it now. Give it to goodwill; that will alleviate any waste guilt.
