How I did it: I began modeling by getting in contact with local photographers for 'time for print' sessions to build my portfolio. Paid work and agency offers rose from there.

Lessons & tips: check refrences of all photographers you work with, and work with those who can improve your portfolio, do not waste your time with mediocre photographers
