How to read the Harry Potter books

"Great books. I really enjoyed reading them. I was bummed when I was finished. I enjoyed visiting that world."
How I did it: Borrowed the books from a friend and from the library. I read them one by one and made sure that I had not seen the movie before I read the book. When I finished a new book, I would reward myself by renting/watching the movie.
