How I did it: A dear friend moved to NY a year prior to my visit, and I've always wanted to go. When airfare dropped to $99 each way on Virgin America, I jumped at the chance!
Lessons & tips:
- Use farewatchers to find the best airfare!
- Also, fly Virgin America if they fly out of your nearest airport. Highly recommended.
- Stay with a local friend or sublet to save money... hotels in NY are 'spensive!
