How to encourage all the smokers who have the Amazing Goal of quitting
How I did it: Just by not smoking - first it was one hour at a time, then one day at a time, then one week, one month then......what was the question again?? :) I say it took 3 months - but it really only takes one second (decision) to quit...the rest is just maintenance.
Lessons & tips: Realise that by having one cigarette, you are creating the need for the next one - that is how nicotine works. So you CAN break the link by just not having the next cigarette...it really is that simple. And the longer and longer that gap is, the easier it will be.
Resources: Alan Carr's Stop Smoking book - the underlying message/advice of this book is simple but the journey you take by reading the book is comprehensive and every smoker will find something in this book they can relate to.
