How I did it: I found Sailing Adventures, an ASA school located near where I live. My husband and I took a 2 day basic keelboat class, and then about a month later we took basic coastal cruising classes. So fun! And not near as difficult as I thought it would be.
Lessons & tips: Find an ASA school for classes, and an instructor you feel comfortable with.
