How to minimize existing clutter and excess possessions
It made me
somewhat satisfied 
"Just leave your shit in the old home, and take what you need."
How I did it: We were going to sell the house but, as you know, market conditions are not optimal. Due to circumstances beyond our control, I gave the house to the ex-wife and everything in it that I do not want or can't fit into my next place.
Lessons & tips: The best way to avoid waste is to not accumulate in the first place. Live frugally, and try not to be tempted by the rampant consumerism that pervades our society.
