"It was an experience I'll never forget."
How I did it: Although I graduated from Barbizon in 2003, I still put this on here because it's one of the things I'm most proud of. Given, my parents did pay for me to attend the classes .. so it was easier for me to go once I was accepted in. I was extremely shy at first. Honestly, I still am ..but now, compaired to then, has improved quite greatly. I did a lot of things at Barbizon I never would have done otherwise. I also learned a lot of things I probably would have never learned. I met some really great people and learned a lot about myself. In a way, I think I matured. I liked myself better once I was finished with those classes.
If it weren't for the costs of portfolios and other things I needed, I think I would have continued onto modeling if I knew I could have gotten jobs. It was an amazing experience.
As for the actual Barbizon experience; I attended class every Saturday and Sunday for 6 months. I believe I started classes in July. I ended up graduating on December 14th, 2003.
Lessons & tips: To be able to successfully improve through Barbizon, you have to go outside your comfort level. You have to open up and do things you normally wouldn't do, even if it makes you feel odd.
Resources: All the people that I had met and befriended there -- they were all so nice and helped me through everything. I didn't know much about anything at that time seeing as I was only 14. I also got a lot of help and support from my family and my teacher, Ms. Kay. She made me promise not to quit. :)
