How to not care what other people think
How I did it: My road to being able to not care about what other poeple thought was to get in touch with myself. What did I think? What were some of my incompromisable values and beliefs? When I stuck to those I grew in my own self-confidance, which allowed me to not care abotu what other people though.
Also, for some things I have always just not cared. I am the kind of person who will walk downtown without any shoes or wear something hideous just because I feel like it.
The things I was afraid about what other people thought of me was based around my intelligence, how socially inept I was, and other personality traits. Fortunately, with the help of a good set of friends and loved ones, I began to ask if I was happy with those things. I decided I was. And I decided my loved ones loved me just the way I was. And I decided I didn't care what outsiders thought of me.
Lessons & tips: It's normal to care about what some people think of you. If one of my best friends told me she thought I was a stuck up snob, it would mean something to me. But chances are, the people around you love you for who you are, and past them, no one else matters.
