How to get my GED
How I did it: By 11th grade I was told that all my slacking off over the years have made it utterly impossible to graduate with my class year so I moved to a Charter School immediately to see if there was a way I could catch up. After a year it became apparent to my Charter School that I was very smart but for some reason I just could not get my mind focused on the work. Finally my Charter School teacher told me I should take the GED so I could still go the college with my class of 2005. I was so afraid of failing I did not want to take the test. Finally she pushed me to take a practice test they had at the school. I passed the practice test with flying colors and realized how easy it was, took the test the next week and got my GED and continued to college.
Lessons & tips: Take a practice test for the GED. It will show you 1.) how easy the test really is and, 2.) what you need to work on if anything at all. I do need to say though that the GED has helped me receive opportunities I would have never otherwise had because of the amazing scores I received (I got a perfect 800 in science) it put me in many amazing networking opportunities and I also was able to use it to finally attain and finish my full on High School Diploma. AT LEAST take the GED test, you would be surprised that it could also help you get your High School Diploma.
