How to clean out my closet.
How I did it: I set aside my day off of work to devote to this task. I made four piles- keeps, salvation army donations, garbage, and things that needed to be tried on again for determination. I also organized all of the books in my closet and gave away the ones I wasn't going to read again.
Also, I have newly discovered t-shirt frames that are great for those vintage shirts that are ratty and smelly but I'd still love to keep for the memories.
A bonus!!- I save all of my pants that are either too big or too small in case I gain or lose weight. I literally have dozens and dozens of jeans in storage. I tried them all back on and discovered that I fit back into most of my skinny jeans! Now I don't need to buy new pants!
Lessons & tips:
Key questions to ask yourself:
- Have I worn this in the past year?
- Am I ever going to wear this again?
- Will I ever lose/gain the weight to fit into this?
- Is this piece of clothing itchy/tight/hot/uncomfortable?
- Am I ever going to wear the shirt with the big stain on the front?
- Would these band t-shirts that smell like weed serve their purpose better in a t-shirt frame for the wall?
