How to be a vegetarian
How I did it: I secretly stopped eating meat for a month before I let anyone know, even my family. I have been meat-free for two years and counting. my family is incredibly supportive and many of my friends have followed suit. To keep from entering into a debate, when questioned about my diet I simply say "I'm not really a meat person" versus "I'm a vegetarian" -- for some reason the v-word puts meat-eaters on the defensive.
Lessons & tips: I will never go back. Subscribe to veggie magazines and learn to cook. Grow your own veggies or at least learn how to shop for them.
