How to speak spanish fluently
How I did it: Class after class. I speak "fluently", that is to say, I speak spanish well, in my opinion, but as it is not my native language I have finally figured out that I don't think I will ever be a "fluent" speaker. I don't have the natural capabilities to speak in Spanish such as I do in english, but I do speak well and can read, write and (for the most part) comprehend orally Spanish. It is something i will have to be dilgent about continuing to work on.
Lessons & tips: I think the best tip would be to try and incorporate learning into your daily routine, like learning the names of household items while doing chores, and repeating sentences like "I am cleaning the carpet" (but in spanish of course) to learn the vocabulary in a practical situation. There is no need for vocabulary like "establecer una zona peatonal". Ever. I don't know why high school class books include them, but I am pretty sure any hispanohablante would laugh their butt off if I said "Voy a establecer una zona peatonal".
Study! And reading aloud while trying to understand context is very helpful too.
Resources: Spanish dictionaries and phrasebooks. Of course, the more you use spanish and the more you are around spanish speakers, the more you will learn and understand. Just like anything else.
