How to raise chickens
How I did it: I started with a pretty good chicken house that was already on the property we bought. I just needed to get the feed, oyster shell, and water and feed dispensers.
The first few chickens were given to me by friends. The latest batch of 27 came from McMurry hatchery.
Lessons & tips: Keep the coop clean. Save your kitchen scraps to feed them. They love the variety. If possible, allow some time to free range in your yard.
Resources: WD40 works great to take care of scaly mites.
