How to take shorter showers
How I did it: I started alternating certain showering activities to save time in the shower. On days I wash my hair, I don't shave my legs. And on days when I shave, I don't wash my hair. If for some reason I need to shave on the same day I wash my hair, I sit in the tub and leave the water off until I'm done and need to rinse off. And I'm going to start shaving that way regularly so I can save more water and time under the shower-head. I've also started using facial cloths on my face which don't need much water and I wash my face outside the shower, saving more time and water. I'm still in the shower a bit longer than I'd like but overall I'm pleased I met this goal.
Lessons & tips: Just learn to prioritize. Do you really need to wash your hair every day? Can you move faster when soaping up? I have the bad habit of singing in the shower, which causes me to lose track of time despite having a shower clock. So I've been trying to limit my singing to the car so I don't waste too much time in the shower.
Resources: Shower clocks/radios, low flow shower heads, two in one shampoos, facial cleansing cloths.
