How to say No when I should
How I did it: I decided to be true to myself after finding myself always rescuing people or taking on too much. Mostly I just didn't have the time to commit and I was getting pulled into things I didn't want to really do.
Finally I just said "No, I can't" or "I can give you some tips on this/that... but I am not available to..."
I always found myself trying to explain why & I ended up feeling guilty or like I was the jerk. I have the right to say "No, I cant help you..." or "Sounds like you have quite a big project but I already have something scheduled."
Just say it! No explanation and you can feel good.
Lessons & tips: Provide other resources they can look into.
Recommend someone else you know might like "it" better or do a better job etc.
Feel good about it, you will earn respect esp. if someone is always dumping on you and not giving the same.
