How to buy a new car
"Put the car on CL, drive Mom's around for 2 weeks, Find the one you want, buy it!"
How I did it: Looking back it seems easy, but I know it wasn't. It really is a lot of work. But definitely worth it. Driving my new car makes me so happy! Plus, I got a great deal on it, and made a good down payment and now my monthly payments are even lower!
Lessons & tips:
- Utilize craigslist.com, Autotrader, Kelly Blue Book, and Edmunds
- Make sure you ger as much for your car as you still owe on it
- Have a backup, or temporary car to drive so that you don't rush into getting a new one
- Research, research, research (both selling and buying)
- Don't get persuaded into buying a new one -- Take your time
- Look for private deals, but keep in mind that new car dealerships often have great deals on used cars that have been on the lot for a while
- Look to finance through a credit union
