How to see a falling star/comet
How I did it: Awkward and funny story. My dad had told me about the meteor shower coming up (I will have to check back which one...) and I looked up the best times to watch it, which happened to be between midnight and two in the morning. I was home for a holiday at the time...and my parents' home has one of those alarm systems that they set at night that goes off if you open the door. When the meteor shower came around, everyone else had gone to bed, and I didn't know if they had set the alarm, or how to tell if they had, or how to turn the alarm off. So instead of opening the door and watching the shower outside, I opened a window (which I later learned would have set the alarm off anyway, if it had been on...) and craned my head out the window. The shower was beautiful, and there were so many falling stars!! We all had a good laugh at my confusion over breakfast. I wish my family had stayed awake to see it though...it was definitely something worth sharing!
Lessons & tips: Look up when a meteor shower is coming up, and when the best time to see it is. View it from outside, somewhere with few street lights!
