How to control my nerves
How I did it: Sorry, this is more of an "entry" than a "how I did it" but there's still info here!
I feel like this goal is no longer really a goal I need to have. I remember times when my nerves got the better of me, but I don't seem to have that issue now, and I can't remember anything in between.
I'm as cool as a cucumber regarding just about anything now. Still have one or two *confidence* issues, but I believe the two can and do operate independently of each other/are different emotions altogether...
... the way I see it, anxiety is created from others expectedly or unexpectedly imposing on you, i.e. someone asks *you* a specific question; can you answer it or not? Confidence is the willingness to present the info without needing to be provoked, i.e. you are asking the question and offering your own info/opinions in exchange for theirs.
Tick!
Lessons & tips: While it's easy to say, when put in a situation just take a moment to relax and understand what is happening/being said/requested etc. etc., and don't dwell on the pressure on you.
Focus all attention on the task/request and fulfil it. If you're found in a situation where anxiety gets the better of you, breathe, take a moment, and say to yourself, "No-one is watching me, I am not under pressure, I am focused on meeting my own targets, as is every other person here". Understand the situation first and foremost.
