How to try a Buffalo Burger

How I did it: I stopped at a roadside burger joint somewhere out west on a roadtrip. Maybe Wyoming? They advertised buffalo burgers, so I ordered up a big one, medium rare.
One bite: gamey and gross. Second bite (just to be sure): yack!
Lessons & tips: Try ordering at a place that looks reputable. I may have been eating squirrel for all I know...
