How to control my drinking
How I did it: I realized that at times I was drinking more than I should have and felt bad about the consequences of doing so. I keep myself busy with positive things and realize that they are more important than feeling tired and/or hung over from drinking. I realize that I still enjoy drinks feel much better drinking them in moderation.
I haven't been wasted since that last entry in December, 2007 where I mentioned the two birthday parties I attended in one night. I feel confident that I don't want to become blitzed anymore, so instead of having to look at this goal as a reminder, I feel I need to trust my confidence and mark it off.
Lessons & tips:
- Take a look at how much you're drinking. Keep a journal if need be. Maybe you are drinking more than you realize.
- Keep in mind how bad it is for your physical and mental health.
- Slow down on the drinking. Drink plenty of water.
- Lead a busy life. Have things you need to get up for in the morning. Do constructive things with your free time instead of partying. You might even discover you like doing these things more.
- Don't give up.
Resources: Just looking around and seeing good and bad examples. Feeling fulfilled when I get it right.
