How I did it: I passed my CBT.
I started on a moped but it got stolen. I took geared bike lessons and bought a 125 which I have been now riding for the last 5 months. I am now going to go for the A2 licence.
Lessons & tips: Go for it! It helps to have some experience before doing the CBT. Some training centres recommend that you have at least bicycle skills. I did it from scratch and ended up having to do and pay for additional hours to complete the CBT.
Be prepared that doing the CBT can be a long day and there is quite a lot to take in.
I had to take this a number of times but eventually passed. I now ride a restricted ER5 (500cc) and am so glad I did it. It means I don’t have to do a CBT every two years. I can now carry a passenger and ride on motorways.I will be restricted for two years then will think about getting a bigger bike. I’m still in love with riding and highly reccommend it!
