How to ride in a hot air balloon

"It was fun, but scary enough in a tethered balloon that I'm glad I didn't spring for the untethered ride!"
How I did it: I actually only went up in a tethered line balloon at a balloon rally - which was cool. (Or rather hot - I'd never considered how hot I'd get when the burner fired!) Thinking about how my gut lurched with that experience has made me rethink ever going up for a ride in an untethered ballon. There's something terrifying about getting more than 40 feet off of the ground in an open basket! No thanks.
