How to learn to surf

How I did it: I was in Hawaii at the time and went to a lesson. It was a three day course and I've managed to go from a long board to a short board since.
Essentially making it over the first couple of waves was hard, and working through the pipeline can be a pain. But once you catch onto a wave and balance yourself it turns to be quite enjoyable.
Lessons & tips: Do not go without a pair of long surf shorts and a swim guard. Trust me.
