How I did it: Everyone knows that computers are a losing investment - so make sure you know what you want. Look into the types of things you'll want to do with your computer, and find the best equipment for it, then wait for it to be at a price that you want. Even though I've only put 1 day down for how long this took me, I actually just picked up on things that I would like in my final system - some by looking for them, and others by stumbling upon them. For instance, I got a computer with a remote control, but really hadn't thought about it until I saw one in a store.
