"In 90 days, I packed my things, put my house on the market, changed areas, got a job, got my husband a job, put my son in school, and started my daughter's tests."
How I did it:
- Made plans
- Put my resume out online
- Contacted job agencies
- Got my son into the school system before I moved, then transferred him
- Choice of doctors for my daughter was REALLY limited - that made the decision easy!
- Basically, wore myself out.
Lessons & tips:
- If you are depressed or show signs of depression, seek HELP - and don't put it off. Apathy and depression simply cause more problems.
- Be kind to yourself and don't get discouraged during a job search; keep going.
- Don't do it this way - this many changes at once is completely overwhelming!
Resources:
- 43Things has been a great source of encouragement.
- The online jobsites didn't do much for me, but I do highly recommend Indeed.com - it provided lots of leads on jobs from multiple sources.
