How to keep a journal
How I did it: First, I went to a shop down the street that I remembered seeing that had really neat hand carved leather journals. Well that was way too expensive. So then I went to target, and found a cute, small notebook with a rubberband type closure (for the illusion of privacy) and just started writing. I started with a lot of mundane topics, but then moved along to things I'm working to accomplish and things I hope to complete, etc. And it feels really good to get things down on paper.
Now I leave it on my nightstand so that it's easy to access and almost always in my line of sight. Although if I didn't live alone, I probably wouldn't leave it out in the open.
Lessons & tips: Go pick out a journal, doesn't need to be fancy, and get a pen and leave it where you will remember it and can access it easily. Just write whatever you're thinking, if you feel like it, even if it seems boring. When you look back in 10 years, you won't think your point of view is boring.
