How to quit Smoking
"The most worthwhile struggle."
How I did it: LOTS of water, and a new hobby.
I was scared into quitting this past time, nearly suffocating from a bad case of athsma and my Nanny dying of lung cancer.
Six and a half months later, I'm still smoke-free. =}
Lessons & tips: Stay hydrated and find something healthier to get addicted to that can distract you from the cravings while interrupting your usual routine. Don't do the same things that you would when you smoke. If you take a break for lunch during work, don't go to the smoker's lounge/rest area.. hit up a park bench instead and do a crossword puzzle. Bring friends if you need to.
Also, do not skip meals. Having a smoke was my favorite way to kill my appetite. I was always more apt to have a cigarette than cook lunch for myself. This is also why drinking lots of water is really important. Water is also an appetite suppressant, but a MUCH healthier one than Nicotene. ^_^
