How to learn to ride a horse
How I did it: Over time when I was younger. Living on the farm has its perks, as does being around ranchers who raise and break horses for a living. I learned over time, little by little, until I was fully comfortable being in and around horses. They're magnificent animals, and I truly do miss being around them now. Riding one in the country in an open field is really the way to go.
Lessons & tips: Always approach the horse from the front, run your hand along its neck before trying to get up into the saddle. Also, talk to the horse - soothe it. And most of all, RESPECT the horse.
Resources: Stepfather helped me. Oh, and summer camp.
