How to learn an ancient language
"It's fantastic: not only you get the chance to learn a lot of history, but ancient languages help you finding the origins of modern languages... Compltely worth it!"
How I did it: I've studied Latin for two years at school: it was so interesting and passionating that I started studying the grammar all by myself, and reading the opera by Caesar, Cicero... Now I'm able to understand almost every latin text you could give me =)
My next mission is learning ancient Greek: then some other ancient language (Old English or Aramaic, for example)...
Lessons & tips: The ancient languages have a more complex grammar than the modern ones, but don't worry: the key to succeed is starting thinking like Romans (or any ancient civilisation) thought. You must stop worrying about traslating into that language, but simply start thinking in that language ;)
