How I did it: I always wondered who my Angel was, or if there was indeed a Guardian Angel looking over you. On the 21st of July 2009, I did, not the easy way either.

It was around 10.30AM and I was driving my friend home from staying around my place. It wasn't a nice day, raining hard, bad visibility and I changed my route, as the car I was behind was driving slow. I now understand why. I was on a road called the 'Claypits', as it is the road through the claypits and the trucks of the company take for transportation from one site to another. I was driving along around 50MPH on a National Speed Limit road (60MPH) and I approached a blind corner, so I started to slow my car down. Before I knew it, we had hit some sludgy clay from the trucks of the Claypits.

The back end of my car slid out, and correcting it, I turned my wheel to the right, which seemed okay, for a few seconds. At this point it was pretty enevitable that we were going to crash so to avoid my friend in the passenger seat getting the blow, I span my wheel hard left. My car diagonally slid down the road for about 2 metres, smashing full force into a hedge with a signpost which acted like a launching ground. My car flew into the air, did a flip on itself and landed upside down, the opposite direction, on the otherside of the road and about 4 metres away from the impact point.

We were passed out for a minute or so. Concidering, we came out very, very, very lucky. I had the main injuries; Wiplash, bruised bones, spilt ear, split elbow, deep lacerations all down my right arm and shoulder ect. Getting out alive was a miracle.

My Mum is my Angel. She died around 10 years ago and theres just something inside you that tells you that were saved by her. She was looking over me that day, and decided that it most definitely was not time to meet her just yet. My life is now being lived to the absolute fullest.

Lessons & tips: Have a near death experience? Not the best or easiest way. Just make sure your definitely not going to die!
