How to buy a House
"It was both fun and stressful to tour so many homes, and it was especially daunting to stay within our budget. But we did it!"
How I did it: Excellent realtor team who really know the area and understood what we really wanted. Oh, and persistence.
I highly suggest talking to the neighbors in an area you're really interested in. We lucked
out, overall, neighborhood-wise, but there are a few aspects I could do
without.
Lessons & tips: Make a list of dealbreakers. And stick to it. I am kinda bummed I compromised on central air conditioning. Also, take your time. Really imagine your core routine in this new space. It helps a lot!
Resources: Knowing that we were investing in our future was the biggest help. We did do quite a bit of online research, comparing neighborhoods and
price ranges, as well as distances from husband's work (because he
rides a bike).
