How I did it: We actually just moved into a new, larger home, which gave me a fresh start. As we were packing and moving, I got rid of all the stuff that created clutter and things that we just didn't need. I also go by the motto "everything has it's own place" and that's how I keep things organize. I have a spare bedroom so now I'm able to keep my husband Army gear put away neatly and everything is just great now! I use tips from the flylady website as well.

Lessons & tips: As soon as your kids grow out of clothes, shoes, and even toys, donate them to your local goodwill or thrift shop. You can do this for your own personal items as well. Also, wash dishes every night after dinner and wipe down countertops, and sweep floor, that way you won't have to dread waking up to a dirty kitchen. It's great to keep your house clean, especially for unexpected guests.
