How to learn Chi kong
How I did it: I first intended to find a teacher, as we often do when we want to learn something. But both because I had hard times finding one and because I realized that I could learn from myself, as it's a very personnal thing, I decided to start gathering informations and try it alone.
I had some little expriences of Ki Gong in the past, given by my Sensei (karate, kendo, Ju-jitsu), but even him was a beginning student in the matter, and our pratices where too sporadic.
I also had a girlfriend who knew good basis of Ki Gong, but we did'nt praticed a lot.
So I gathered all these experiences together and I started to pratice what I remembered. At the same time, I searched for books on the subject, and I founded many! So many in fact that I did a first selection of those who seemed well written and serious enough. And that's how I started! I'm still reading on the subject, as I'm only begining, but I practice every day and I seriously think that's the best way to learn, because Ki Gong is a lifelong trip inside yourself, so if you're attentive to yourself, even if you don't know yet the whole technic, you'll make progress in the good direction.
Lessons & tips: Look for a teacher or a friend who knows about it, but don't stop there. If no one is available at the time, start by yourself. Don't do too much if you're not sure;listen to your inside self.
Read books, try their technics and keep those you think are good. Don't give too much credit to a book if you have doubt, but do not be afraid of a technic that seem unusual. We all are!
