How to list 100 things that make me happy
How I did it: Looking through all the goals posted in 43things.com, I found this the easiest to accomplish. And I thought it would be worth doing it.(and it really is!)
I made sure I wasn't in a hurry for something and my thoughts weren't at all pre-occupied before doing the list. The moment I started writing...a lot of pictures (happy memories) flashed in my mind.
So the next number wasn't so hard to fill out at all. I even found
myself smiling while doing the entries. It was fun doing it. And the best part is the after effect...finishing the 100 gave me a glimpse of what my life had been and how blessed I am to experience / own so many wonderful things.
(I was having a hard day when I started listing down the 100 things that make me happy. So I decided to write only 10 and finish the other 90 items the next day. That's why it took me two days.)
Lessons & tips: Take sometime to contemplate on what your life has been. Most probably, failures, disappointments and heartaches would cross your mind first. But try to do away with it. Think of all the happy thoughts...happy memories. And you'll see, a lot of them are usually the small things that go unnoticed in our lives.
Do this especially when you're exhausted or feeling down...the ups of life are made to happen not just to give us temporary bliss. Rather, they serve a reminders of how much we are loved and blessed.
