How to get through this quickly
How I did it: In the end there really wasn't much that I could do to hasten my recovery, short of not pushing myself too much. However, a large part of getting my balance back was trying to do the things I would normally do - so that my brain/body learned to adjust while it was healing up. So every day, I would walk a little further, do a little more - but still allow myself plenty of down time.
Lessons & tips: The worst part of the whole experience was having NO IDEA what was wrong with me for a couple of days - generally inner ear infections don't make your ears hurt! So I've been telling everyone that if they find themselves falling over and throwing up for no reason, think "Inner ear infection" and get to the doctor. Saves a lot of time and grief.
Resources: Sleep, and the kindness of friends.
