How to restore Daddy's old (repro) English Civil War pike head!
"Hard work but worth it"
How I did it:
- Wipe off excess bright orange rust with a rag and WD40
- Scrub away with a nylon brush and WD40
- Realise it isn't working and resort to a brillo pad (soap filled metal scourer)
- Wash off soap and rust scum
- Dry pike head
- Give a thorough coating of WD40 to prevent dreaded rust coming back.
- I WILL mount it on my wall at some point!
Lessons & tips: WD40 is the stuff of legend... It can solve SO many problems - from rusty pikes, to squeaky doors, to getting rid of gunge from stickers and beyond!
