How to plant all my iris bulbs

Comments:

Dreamer~ Life is good

This is one flower

I’ve never planted. I have a few friends that have a beautiful display every spring…. this would be a nice addition to my yard~

It certainly would be Dreamer~

... I find them a very elegant and regal flower, towering over all others, as if to say “look at me!!!!”

Irises are very easy

You plant them and they come up every year. Every 3-4 years you have to divide them.

I got about a dozen from a friend who did this division. When I dug them up a few years later, I had over a hundred. I gave most of those away, and replanted just the strongest corms I had left.

I divided them again last year, and ended up with nearly two hundred. One more time, I planted just the strongest, a few in a different flower bed, and gave away the rest to someone with acreage.

Tomorrow, I’m working with a youth group who are going to dig up and divide an elderly lady’s iris bed. She’s 89, still enjoys puttering around her garden – but digging up all those iris corms is just too much for her. The Youth Volunteer Corps is going to help her out. I’m not sure what we’ll do with all those corms – if I thought they’d store, I’d force them up in a pot for our auction in the spring!

All our bulb

flowers are now long gone.

It’s nice knowing they’re
popping up in the Southern
Hemisphere!

wheelbarrow

has such a magic for me!
I used to play around the house with it
I let my younger playmate sit in it and I carried her by running and pushing the wheelbarrow across our garden
seemed a nice play then! ;-}

Ah, yes..

... I have the same childhood memories.

Maybe that is why I still like playing with my wheelbarrow ;-)

These are beautiful

they are my favorite flower.

I need to remind my children of that. At my funeral plaese have vases and vases of them. Please give them away to the people who come and pay their last respects. A final reminder of me.

They..

... certainly are the most glorious flower :)
