How to take astronomy class
How I did it: I signed up at my university for the astronomy course listed in the catalog. It requires some knowledge of Algebra II and it also helps to know some
Trig but your professor should be able to teach you the Trig formulas
you need to know if you have not taken that. It requires a lot of
memorization.
Lessons & tips: Watch some tv shows about astronomy. Keep a journal of observations. You don't have to have a telescope. Visit a planetarium if one is near you.
Resources: Astronomy.com has great tools. Set up a free account and you can print star charts for your location to help you with observations. The site will also keep you current on events like meteor showers, ect to watch for. Nova has excellent shows on tv for learning too. Then listen to Carl Sagan read a Pale Blue Dot...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p86BPM1GV8M
