How to look more girly
How I did it: Searched for the "hidden" woman in me.
And found that it was an awesome character.
Now I believe that being "girly" isn't only amazing, but it is a way of expressing your feminine side.
My definition of "girly" could be shown in women such as Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy, Marilyn MonroeAva Gardner...and in modern times Rachel McAdams, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, etc...(NOT NICOLE RICHIE, PARIS HILTON OR LINDSAY LOHAN...that, I am sorry, I consider CHEAP).
I tried to be graceful and outgoing.
I read articles about famous women in politics or arts.
It takes great efforts to be a respectable person, and even more to be a respectable female person.
It was all a pleasure though, and everybody sees me with admiration now.
Lessons & tips: - Get a lot of INFO about anything you could possibly imagine: from literature to astronomy, from politics to music. It's really not about how much information you have, it's about your OPINIONS even about things like abortion or animal rights or gay marriage. ANYTHING.
- Be polite, learn good manners.
- Stop swearing: it makes you look ignorant and cheap, not because you're a woman obviously. Swearing is stupid (oh my, you can still say "shit", "this sucks", "fuck you"...occasionally...but not stuff like "wh***" or "sl**"...just AVOID those terms, ok?)
- Be fit: a healthy diet and sports make you look acceptable and give you the self-confidence you make lack of.
- Choose a style: I love clothes and different styles. I dress boho-chic and preppy most of the time. I pull off the indie look quite well, too.
Personally I suggest that you start with very simple outfits such as ----> jeans (or khaki pants), a polo shirt or a very nice blouse, a simple cardigan, a ring, a necklace, earrings and a few thin bracelets.
Further on you can experiment the art of skirts (I use pencil and tube skirts...I have a nice butt really, but I hate my thighs...but if you feel comfortable about them try with mini skirts as well!).
When you get more confidence the girly style will be like a best friend for you. Don't hesitate! You are a woman, and women, remember, fat or thin, black or white, short or tall, are always outstanding and beautiful.
- Friends: nobody will tell you who to hang out with, and if you already have a lot of friends whom are not exactly "girly" meet new people!
- Be wise: don't just spend your whole savings for a new wardrobe...be WISE! Buy one piece at a time, every now and then. I usually stick to an item...like, for example, right now I really want boat shoes and a blue polo, so next time I'll go shopping that is what I'll look for.
- Get motherly: one main feature of women is to give birth to children. I adore children, always have and always will.
It's not easy to get along with them but...TRY!
Offer to babysit and show how tender you can be.
- Jobs: The GGGJ - Good Girls Get a Job.
A women in modern society is firstly independent. Prove it, girl! Get a job and complete your goals.
If you demonstrate you are mature you'll also achieve more freedom.
- Boys: be good to men! Haha, enough of stupid ancient conflicts. Women love men and men love women. I can't stand sexism. Girlyness has nothing to do with that.
My best friend is a guy and I must admit I'm stuggling with my jealousy issues, but guys can be great to help you catch those different point of views on things...like relationships.
As for boyfriends, find one at Walmart! Hehe, no...I'm just kidding! That's up to you...be with the boy that makes you feel like the girl you really are and that loves you for it.
- Enjoy your girly experience! And remember:
“You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her” Learn to love yourselves, sisters!
