How to clean my laptop

"I was forced to do it because my friends were coming over and I didn't want them to see the dust particles that gathered on my screen and keyboard. HAHAHA. So basically, I wouldn't have done it if I weren't under pressure."
How I did it: I wet a paper towel with water and alcohol and wiped it down? Why is this so important? It's not even like, a big goal. It was just something I had to do because my laptop was looking dirty.
