How I did it:
The How long did it take me answer is misleading. In a way, it happened 'in a snap' and in a way it was a process that took years and years. That's only because I didn't have a mentor. I didn't have anyone with an understanding of the workings of Life (from an energetic point of view) or the Laws of the Universe.
I was fortunate that the first j.o.b. that I applied for, at 16 years old, was denied to me. Mr. Booth interviewed me for a position as an entry-level clerk. After talking with me and testing me for about an hour and a half he said "Young lady, I'm going to do you the biggest favour of your life. I'm not going to hire you". (What! [Old man, gimme a job] I neeeeeeeeed a job)
"I know it won't seem like a good thing right now, but in time, you'll see. If I hired you and spent time and money training you, we'd both lose. You do Not belong in an office. You'd run out of here in less than 6 months."
For a long time I hated Mr. Booth. During the next few hungry months I figured out he was right. And since I've been 'a grown-up', I know, for certain, he did me a solid.
Lessons & tips: I am still refining the process of How to Get the Job you Love now that I am doing workshops etc. to teach people how to do what they love to do.
Random order (to be edited later)
1. Ask yourself – What can't I live without doing (activity-wise)?; What would I do even if I wasn't being paid? What inspires me? What do people call on me for?
2. Learn to 'read' the language of Life, the 'messages' that Life send in 'coincidence'; chance meetings; repetitive themes and symbols …
3. Learn to live by – Do what you love (the money will come)
