How to lose another 10 pounds
How I did it: Realizing, in May of this year, that I had reached a weight gain that put me at 30% body fat (considered obese"), and at almost 30 pounds overweight, and also with summer approaching, I was highly motivated to get my self back to normal.
I started walking more often, cut out chocolate and sweets, drank more water, and substituted zero calorie Lipton Green tea for all other caloried beverages. I took a daily multivitamin, and had an orange daily for breakfast.
I ate more protein in the form of lean chicken, and tuna (always with veggies like brocolli or salad) and, I snacked on nuts and sunflower seed kernels throughout the day.
Dinner incleaded lean meat, veggies, and whole wheat pasta.
If i still had some emotionally driven urge to eat, I popped menthol cough drops which somehow eliminated that urge.
I measured my success publically by way of THE43, which kind of gave me a certain kind of motivation to stay on course, without the nagging or criticism that one gets from family and friends.
Surprisingly, I did not do as much exercise as i thought would be required. I walk alot, naturally, and feel very comfortable doing this, so it did not feel like exercise. But i did not do cardio or join a gym to lose this weight and that surprised me.
Lessons & tips: I first tried to lose 20-25 pounds in a month, but fell short, only losing about 11 pounds that month. I then pursued this goal to help me lose another 10 pounds.
- Breaking weight loss goals into phases seem to have worked.
- Doing weekly check-ins and weigh-ins seemed to have worked.
- Journaling on this website certainly worked
- Educating myself on nutrition, and perhaps taking a daily supplement also worked
