How to start a journal
How I did it: I'm a great procrastinator....by buying a really nice plain paper book, I felt excited to write in it, thoughts, feelings, fears, ideas...just to get things out of my mind, but also to capture wonderful memories or something funny someone said. I'm now going to start writing 5 positive things that happened to me each day, plus 5 things I'm grateful for. This should really kick start me into focussing and expanding on the positives :-) I praised myself for each step which helped me not to give up.
I also bought a cheap lined-paper pad to purge the "nasties!"
Lessons & tips: Don't restrict yourself or force yourself to write in it, write in it because you want to or to release thoughts from your mind, once they're on paper, they're much easier to process.
Resources: Plain nice paper book that I would enjoy writing in.
