How to learn photoshop
How I did it: Well since I wasn't able to take any photoshop classes at school, I mainly read a ton of tutorials about photoshop from how to desaturate an image to what a magic wand was. I always kept practicing in everything that I was trying that sometimes I look at my first few tries and notice a huge difference from what I can make right now. However, recently I took a graphic design class which helped me learn more about photoshop and it made me practice on my weaknesses. Because of that class it made me learn more about photoshop.
Lessons & tips: I noticed that learning photoshop is a constant learning. For every time you're learning new, chances are there's going to be another version of photoshop and it'll have newer features in there that you didn't know. Not only that but have patience, time, and determination. I remembered when I first started I wasn't proud of my work as much so I kept looking at a ton of tutorials and kept referencing over and over again to improve it. Sometimes whenever I forget how to do a certain thing (ex. like trying to make rounded edges in a picture), I would go to my bookmarks list and look for the website that had it. Other times I would just type it on google and usually they provided a tutorial that helps you. I also learned to be open-minded to what photoshop can offer you. After three years of playing around with photoshop by myself, I noticed that this can work for almost any type of work especially for art-related ones. It can work for people who love to draw or people who just love to make their own movie posters. Every few months I would find another useful type of art that photoshop can be used and I would try to learn some basics of it. Even though I'm not an expert in all of those fields, at least I have a basic idea about it which helps me figure out my weaknesses and strengths in photoshop. Not only that but I believe that even though one tutorial may seem a bit gibberish to you, there's always another tutorial that will somehow make it easier for you to understand.
