How I did it: It took me 2 years to convince my husband and save the money. After we'd paid off all our debts, the same money went to savings.
We searched for our new home on the internet, and because it's owned by a massive property management group, it's turned out exactly as advertised so far.
Resources: I'd HIGHLY recommend using a POD instead of a Uhaul for cross-country
moves. It's a little more expensive, but worth the hassle-free
planning, especially if you're not 100% sure where the final destination will be; POD stores your junk until you tell them where to put it.
