How to ride the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, Tennessee
"It was a blissful, exhilerating, unforgettable ride of a lifetime!"
How I did it: By riding first for 3 years to gain needed experience. I averaged about 9,000 miles per year, in all weather conditions except for ice and snow. I also made sure to see each riding opportunity as a chance to hone my skills. I learn something nearly every time I ride.
Lessons & tips: Look through the turns to where you want to come out, not where you are. On left curves, look out to the end of the curve and over to the just left of the white line on the rright side of the road. Don't look at the yellow line in the middle because you will cut through the curve too steeply.
