How to knit a real, wearable, non-embarrassing sweater that fits
"Challenging!"
How I did it: Used a sweater pattern from the "Stitch 'n' Bitch" book (the first one), and adapted it a bit for myself. Then, I just started knitting and didn't quit until I finished it. I knew if I "took a break" I'd never get around to picking it up again, so I powered through. In the end, the knitting was the fairly easy part. Seam-sewing, however, is not easy at all. That will take some more practice.
Lessons & tips: I don't know if it's true for all patterns, but the "correct" size for me came out huge, about a full size too big. Still, it's comfy, even if the sleeves are way too long. Don't care--I did it!
