How to go to film school
How I did it: My high school drama teacher gave me an advertisement for a school in my state. I arranged a tour and went up to see it. I was very impressed and got an application. I spent the better part of a month writing an essay and finally sent it in. A week later, they called me back and I went in for an interview. They accepted me on the spot. I then spent the whole summer looking for housing in the new town. Got my self a house and some roommates, we got to know each other and we're all in the same program. School just started, so I am now officially a film school student, possibly the most exciting thing that I've ever done. I can't wait to make my first movie. So far so good, in the world od film school.
Lessons & tips: Apply early. I cut it really close and almost didn't get in. The sooner you apply (and get accepted) the more time you will have to secure your spot and find housing.
Resources: The internet! Keep communication strong between you and the school and you have a better chance because they will see you as highly dedicated. it worked well for me.
